We configure transaction mapping based on your accounting policy: e-commerce orders may create Sales Orders for allocation and pick/pack, or Cash Sales when payment is captured immediately — including for certain POS flows. Line items, taxes, shipping, discounts, and Shopify order IDs are stored on the NetSuite record for traceability. Fulfillments and tracking sync back to Shopify so customers see accurate status.

When a transaction should post as a Cash Sale in NetSuite, we create that record with correct accounts and payment references. Refunds in Shopify generate Cash Refund transactions linked to the original sale, preserving line-level detail for returns and partial refunds. Gift card sales on Shopify are recorded in NetSuite according to your chart of accounts — typically as liability until redemption.
